Screw it. A lil QH post because it's Friday and your old pal combatdavey is holding a yin yoga stretch and needs to think about something other than how his muscles feel like they're made of burlap.
Two little things before I start:
🧠🧠 If you haven't tried your hand at Tuesday's trivia questions and want to, get to it. As with last week, this week's trivia questions have the answers below them (but hidden).
🤷🤷 New Twitter is a dumpster fire but media organizations (legacy and indie), professional teams, and a handful of non-insane people still post things there, so I will link to the hellsite when appropriate.
At any rate, below you will find some sports-concerned bubble and squeak to fill the moments in your day you would otherwise spend hoarding food and then burying it an inch below the soil in various locations near your nest or den where you can easily access it over the course of the winter.
It's go time.
⚾💣 Kyle Schwarber became the 21st player in history to hit 4 HRs in a game last night, and that ain't hay. (MLB)
⚾📺 Kyle Schwarber had to go back to work 53 minutes after becoming the 21st player in history to hit 4 HRs in a game because he had to film a guest spot on Abbot Elementary. (Twitter/Alexcoll_)
⚾🎸 Cal "Big Dumper" Raleigh and the Mariners captured the Vedder Cup, "likely the most meaningless and yet kinda fun thing in MLB." (Yahoo! Sports)
🏈🧀 The Micah Parsons saga is over. The Cowboys traded the star edge rusher to the Packers, who promptly signed him to a staggering deal. Sidebar: everyone who cheers for a team in the NFC North that isn't Green Bay is livid. (ESPN)
🏈👋🏽 Parsons wrote a nice little goodbye to Dallas and posted it on Twitter. (Twitter/MicahhParsons11)
⚾👶 Interesting and/or noteworthy MLB call ups include Payton Tolle (Boston) and Jonah Tong (NYM), the latter of which is interesting to me because Tong is from the Greater Toronto Area. (MLB)
🇨🇦🤕 The Future of Sport in Canada Commission has presented a report that suggests that "the Canadian sports system is rife with abuse and fosters a culture that discourages athletes from speaking out." I could not be more disappointed, but hey, solving a problem requires acknowledging there is one. (CBC)
🐴🏀 Here is a basketball-y thing from one of only Twitter accounts still worth following. (Twitter/horseimage)
🏀🏈 Former NBA point guard Rajon Rondo is apparently the best flag football QB in America. (Twitter/LegionHoops)
⚾🪮 Andre Jackson became the first NPB pitcher to hit a homer this season and his hair alone is worth clicking through for. (Twitter/GaijinBaseball)
⚾🤮 Mark Teixiera is running for Congress in Texas, opening the door for Vicente Padilla to bean him again somehow. (USA Today)
