🍟🍟🍟 TGIF! It's Dave comin' at you live and direct (well, kind of) from a very comfy bed (well, kind of) with answers to yesterday's trivia questions.

If you haven't read the questions and want to, go there now.

Sorry not sorry for the repetition.

Repetition.

I wanted to make sure the answers to the first question were below the fold.

If you beefed yesterday's questions, please don't feel bad. They weren't easy. They also weren't really Oddball-style questions. Jonathan and I tend to get a bit more whimsical with our questions but I was just so excited about Summer League I wanted to get a post up so I kinda, sorta deviated from our usual way. (I regret nothing.)

🧠 questions and answers

1️⃣ When Collin Murray-Boyles makes his Raptors début during Summer League, he will become the fourth Raptor ever to have a hyphen in his name. Who are the other three? (Hint: none of them played more than 60 games for the franchise.)

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (60 GP as a Raptor)
Nana Papa Yaw "Pops" Mensah-Bonsu (35)
Javon Freeman-Liberty (22)

2️⃣ With Cooper Flagg's Summer League début imminent, it seems as good a time to mention that only two first overall picks have ever won Summer League MVP. Who are they? (Hint: they did it in back-to-back years.)

Blake Griffin, LAC (2009)
John Wall, WAS (2010)

3️⃣ As we're not classist, we think it's important to note that three second-round picks have been named Summer League MVP. Who are they? (Hint: one was a co-MVP.)

Josh Selby, MEM (2012)
Glen Rice Jr., WAS (2014)
Jalen Wilson, BRK (2024)

🚨 ICYMI Josh Selby shared Summer League MVP honours with some scrub named Damian Lillard.

4️⃣ As a dynasty basketball GM, I'm a huge fan of the last pick of the first round. As such, I know that two players drafted 30th overall have won Summer League MVP. Do you? (Hint: both are still active NBA players.)

Kyle Anderson, SAS (2015)
Josh Hart, LAL (2018)

5️⃣ While basketball is an international game, only two non-Americans have ever won Summer League MVP and at one point they were NBA teammates. Who are they? (Hint: they have a country in common... kind of.)

🇨🇦 Brandon Clarke, MEM (2019)
🇱🇹 Jonas Valanciunas, TOR (2013)

The "country in common" bit was kinda dumb, but I'm sure you understood where we were going. Clarke is from Canada, and JoVal was drafted by the Raptors and played here for six years.
